About meHi there. I’m Antonella and this is my blog.
I use to buy my veggies in a local market near my house; one or two times each week I leave my kids at school and I go to the market in the earlier morning.
I love walking and seeing the colours, I love listening the vendors chatting with their habitual clients about the weather, the prices, always without forget to asking about the family .. or their health.
I also have my favourite vendor. Last week I found some beautiful fava beans: spring is coming, I thought.
Fava beans, or broad beans, are usually dried, but when they are in season I eat them in a salad, loving their sweetness and their nutty flavour.
Yes, I know, remove the fava beans from the pod is a tedious work, but if you are following me on facebook maybe you have seen my little kid Alice doing this job for me. I don’t know why but it’s something that my daughter love to do… even if just for few minutes!
Anyway this is not a recipe because it’s soooo easy to prepare this salad: in a big bowl combine the fava beans with the best percorino cheese you can find, chopped in small pieces. I love to dress my salad with a generouse amount of extravergine olive oil, tuscan of course, a tiny tiny lemon zest, maldon salt and freshly ground black pepper.
With a toasted slice of sourdough bread is not just a salad… it’s a super complete meal.
